[24] Day 82 - 85

Submitted by: snoopy on Fri, 07/04/2006 - 5:33pm

Days 82 and 83 - Batches of 30, continously multi-tabling for up to four hours at a time can prove wearisome. Going to need a little more oomph to my groove-thang, to get me fired up to finish this.

To this end, I figure 3 batches of 20 would be better than 2 batches of 30. Shorter sessions, more breaks in between the tournaments, keep the mind fresh etc etc. I'll see how it goes.

Was going to be going away this weekend, of up to the 'Deen for Mammy's Day. Turns out my dear old mum is away to Shetland instead, so it'll be back down the salt mines for me.

Quite right, I've got work to do! She can get her choccys some other time.

Days 82 an 83 Results : -$38.5 (+$11,167 total)
ROI : 8.4% (after 2,088 single table poker match thingies)

Pains me to report a loss today, at one point it was looking like another comma day. I then proceeded to run very dry.
I shant indulge myself by telling you all just how dry (unless anyone asks   Roll Eyes )

Never like getting the red pen out. Very tempting to just update after tomorrow instead. It's important to me that I don't go down that path though.
D-i-s-c-i-p-l-i-n-e, he said through gritted teeth.  Cheesy

One mental weekend of poker coming up. I might leave the house to buy toast, but that's about it.

Days 84 and 85 - The smoking ban has begun in Scotlands places of work, which includes public houses.

I decided a wee while ago that when this happened, I would quit. I'm on the patches now and it has been over 48 hours since my last cigarette.

When I went out to get my nicotene patches, I still had a half packet of cigarettes in my pocket. On my way home, I passed a group of teenagers, aged around 16/17, a couple of whom were smoking.

I took my last fag packet out of my pocket and announced "Who wants these, I've quit" A lanky chap took them from my hand and gave me a peculiar look. 7 years ago, when I started this filthy habit, that lanky chap giving people peculiar looks was me. When the willpower fails, hopefully that circular poetic harmony will help keep me off the tabs.  Cheesy

Days 84 and 85 Results : +$1,519.5 (+$12,686.5 total)

ROI : 9.1% (after 2,188 tournaments)

A much needed jump in the ol' Republic of Ireland, lovely-jubbily.

I know this is a poker forum, and a poker thread. I've just been talking about smoking (or rather not smoking) today so my apologies. It's probably because that is all that's on my mind.

(the tank is gasping.)

Perhaps I can replace my addiction to cigarettes with an addiction to commas instead? I would have no problem with that.  Cool
