[17] Day 58 - 60

Submitted by: snoopy on Fri, 24/03/2006 - 1:22pm

Day 58 - The second tournament I entered was a $110+9 six-seater. Registering for it was an accident. Never mind, I thought, will try to make the best of it.

I was shocked by some appaling play. A couple of players threw their chips at me and I ended up winning it. This made me think I'd been wasting my life playing 9-man STTs. The six-way action looked lucrative to say the least.

I played another four, walking away with a couple of 2nd places. With 2/3 fish in them, there is oodles of value in these things.

The problem, as I was soon to discover, is that with 2/3 fellow shark at the table, there is no value whatsoever. Multi-tabling, I might have even been -EV (shockeroonie). From the following eight I attempted, I only harvested myself one lonely cash, and even that was a piddily 2nd place.

No more six-seaters for me thankyou, I'll stick to what I know.

Settling into the 9-man $105s I played an ok game. Managed 30 of them on top of the 13 disastorous six-pacs. I even dabbled in one cheeky wee $55 game. Let me tell you of it's bizzarity.....

I set a new personal record for speedy winning of a STT, 29 minutes!
We didn't even get to the 100/200 25ante level.

It was great fun, within the space of seven hands the random number generator bestowed upon me AA, QQ, AA and 99. Each one knocking a gob-smacked player to the rail.
Heads up I finished the, quite grateful, short-stack off with J8o. (He hadn't played a hand all game)
Most fun I've had in a Sit n Go for a while.  Even MikkyT could have won that tournament.  Cool

Day 58 Results : +$859 (+$8,431.5 total)
ROI : 10.6% after 1210 tournaments    (13*$110s/109*$105s/1088*$55s)
VPPs 33,360
FPPs 78,267

Not too shabby at the end of the day after pissing away pest part of $1k six-pacing to begin with. You'd take $800 every sesh if you could.

tank is still hungry for that day with a comma in it though (+$x, xxx)
Close just isn't good enough

Discalimer - Mikky is a good player, I have a lot of respect for his game.

Day 59 -   I kinda slept in, woke up at 6.30 am and only had time for one batch. The Yanks are in their beds now so I can't really play another. Stayed up too late last night, was 8pm or thereabouts by the time I nodded off. Usually I zonk out around noon.

It's midday now and I'm wide awake, oh dear. I'll work something out, can't really afford to fiddle with my sleeping patterns too much. I need to be awake during "playtime"

Only cashed in 8 out of 30 tournaments today, that's a little depressing.
Thankfully, still a profitable day, as 7 of the 8 cashes were 1st places in $105s.  Cheesy
A few more cashes instead of those pesky bubbles and I woulda had my comma.

Day 59 Results : +$428.5 (+$8,860 total)
ROI : 10.7% after 1240 tournaments

After 11 hours sleep, theres no way I'll be napping for a while.

Maybe I'll go play a heap of $3 tournaments today to get the ol' tally up.
How many tables do Pokerstars let you play at once? Never mind, I'll soon find out.

Free money available on the $3 turbos later on today then! See you there.

Day 60 - Fifty under the belt just today. Sleeping patterns all muffed up still. 20 of them were the $3 turbos played just to say that I had 20-tabled and to knock over a few more towards the total during the "no play zone"

When the WSOP qualifiers start, I'll play the STT satellites to the super if I'm awake during the day. They'll still count towards the 4,000 won't they? If and when I win a seat in the Super I'll count that as real $ for ROI calculations.

Word from Pokerstars is that they'll kick off early March. (Mon then Stars, arse in gear, I fancy playing a few today)

Day 60 Results : -$298.5 (+$8.561.5 total)
ROI : 10.0% (after 1290 tournaments played)

Can't win 'em all. It'd be good if you could.

Halfway, and I'm 710 tournaments behind schedule. March will be a month of madness and I'll be the roight side of 2,700 come 1st April. That's the plan anyway.

If the ROI stays in double figures and I'm playing mostly the $105s then I'll remain a happy camper. 15% is now a distant dream.
